Skiffory

Skiffory brings paddlesport rentals into a visual workspace built around the records, decisions and reviews that shape the work.

Skiffory product concept in a branded setting

Project overview

Skiffory is a product design concept for paddlesport rentals. Rental staff need bookings, equipment allocations and return records to stay connected during busy handovers. The scope connects four activities: rental desk, gear collection, booking record, return review. Each has a dedicated screen, with a rental allocation board with equipment silhouettes and time ribbon establishing the visual direction. The work includes interface composition, proposed feature architecture and industry-specific showcase imagery.

The challenge

Rental staff need bookings, equipment allocations and return records to stay connected during busy handovers. A useful workspace must preserve the connection between the original reference, the selected record and the discussion around a change. Showing more information alone would not resolve that handoff.

  • Keep booking slots and equipment identifiers connected to the selected work.
  • Make allocation status visible at the point where decisions are reviewed.
  • Retain return photographs and follow-up tasks through the handoff.

Our solution

The design starts with a rental allocation board with equipment silhouettes and time ribbon. Allocate kayak silhouettes to booking cards on a time-based board. The remaining views separate exploration, coordination and review into layouts suited to their content. A lake blue, safety orange and fog palette gives the product its own visual identity, while selected-record panels keep details close to the working surface.

  • Allocate kayak silhouettes to booking cards on a time-based board.
  • Browse paddle and kayak records with storage references and allocation status.
  • Inspect guest booking details beside selected equipment and handover notes.
  • Review returned equipment photographs and administrative follow-up tasks.

Technology stack

    The results

The design establishes four distinct paddlesport rentals views and a proposed set of twelve feature areas. The visual system prioritizes the working object and its context rather than repeated metric cards. A next validation would ask a practitioner to move from rental desk to return review, identify the selected record and retrieve the relevant return photographs. These are design deliverables, not measured business outcomes.
