Reknit

Reknit brings garment repair services into a visual workspace built around the records, decisions and reviews that shape the work.

Reknit product concept in a branded setting

Project overview

Reknit is a product design concept for garment repair services. Repair services need customers and makers to refer to the same garment area and agreed alteration request. The scope connects four activities: repair intake, appointment desk, maker board, collection review. Each has a dedicated screen, with a garment intake canvas with repair markers and appointment strip establishing the visual direction. The work includes interface composition, proposed feature architecture and industry-specific showcase imagery.

The challenge

Repair services need customers and makers to refer to the same garment area and agreed alteration request. A useful workspace must preserve the connection between the original reference, the selected record and the discussion around a change. Showing more information alone would not resolve that handoff.

  • Keep garment photographs and repair markers connected to the selected work.
  • Make maker assignments visible at the point where decisions are reviewed.
  • Retain photo comparison and collection notes through the handoff.

Our solution

The design starts with a garment intake canvas with repair markers and appointment strip. Inspect a garment photograph with repair-area markers and request details. The remaining views separate exploration, coordination and review into layouts suited to their content. A indigo, chalk and tomato red palette gives the product its own visual identity, while selected-record panels keep details close to the working surface.

  • Inspect a garment photograph with repair-area markers and request details.
  • Arrange fitting and collection appointments beside selected customer notes.
  • Review alteration jobs as visual garment cards grouped by work stage.
  • Compare garment photographs and inspect handover notes with completion tasks.

Technology stack

    The results

The design establishes four distinct garment repair services views and a proposed set of twelve feature areas. The visual system prioritizes the working object and its context rather than repeated metric cards. A next validation would ask a practitioner to move from repair intake to collection review, identify the selected record and retrieve the relevant photo comparison. These are design deliverables, not measured business outcomes.
