Reelora

Reelora brings film location scouting into a visual workspace built around the records, decisions and reviews that shape the work.

Reelora product concept in a branded setting

Project overview

Reelora is a product design concept for film location scouting. Scouting teams need visual location choices connected to access notes, visit records and production discussion. The scope connects four activities: location viewer, scout route, location comparison, production dossier. Each has a dedicated screen, with a panoramic location viewer with map inset and bottom shortlist establishing the visual direction. The work includes interface composition, proposed feature architecture and industry-specific showcase imagery.

The challenge

Scouting teams need visual location choices connected to access notes, visit records and production discussion. A useful workspace must preserve the connection between the original reference, the selected record and the discussion around a change. Showing more information alone would not resolve that handoff.

  • Keep panorama views and location tags connected to the selected work.
  • Make contact references visible at the point where decisions are reviewed.
  • Retain team comments and open questions through the handoff.

Our solution

The design starts with a panoramic location viewer with map inset and bottom shortlist. Inspect a cinematic location panorama with position notes and a map inset. The remaining views separate exploration, coordination and review into layouts suited to their content. A charcoal, sand and cinematic red palette gives the product its own visual identity, while selected-record panels keep details close to the working surface.

  • Inspect a cinematic location panorama with position notes and a map inset.
  • Arrange location visits on a map and daily itinerary.
  • Compare shortlisted interior and exterior locations with production notes.
  • Gather location photographs, contact references and open planning questions.

Technology stack

    The results

The design establishes four distinct film location scouting views and a proposed set of twelve feature areas. The visual system prioritizes the working object and its context rather than repeated metric cards. A next validation would ask a practitioner to move from location viewer to production dossier, identify the selected record and retrieve the relevant team comments. These are design deliverables, not measured business outcomes.
