Nimbrel

Nimbrel brings kite design into a visual workspace built around the records, decisions and reviews that shape the work.

Nimbrel product concept in a branded setting

Project overview

Nimbrel is a product design concept for kite design. Kite makers need design variants, panel references and workshop notes connected in one visual record. The scope connects four activities: sail studio, pattern collection, prototype journal, workshop packet. Each has a dedicated screen, with a geometric sail canvas with panel inspector and variant ribbon establishing the visual direction. The work includes interface composition, proposed feature architecture and industry-specific showcase imagery.

The challenge

Kite makers need design variants, panel references and workshop notes connected in one visual record. A useful workspace must preserve the connection between the original reference, the selected record and the discussion around a change. Showing more information alone would not resolve that handoff.

  • Keep panel selection and palette variants connected to the selected work.
  • Make prototype photos visible at the point where decisions are reviewed.
  • Retain revision records and workshop checklist through the handoff.

Our solution

The design starts with a geometric sail canvas with panel inspector and variant ribbon. Inspect an original geometric kite design with colored panel selection. The remaining views separate exploration, coordination and review into layouts suited to their content. A sky blue, vermilion and white palette gives the product its own visual identity, while selected-record panels keep details close to the working surface.

  • Inspect an original geometric kite design with colored panel selection.
  • Browse sail pattern variants with palette and panel references.
  • Review prototype photographs with maker observations and revision notes.
  • Gather pattern drawings, material references and administrative preparation tasks.

Key features

  • Sail studio

Inspect an original geometric kite design with colored panel selection.

  • Pattern collection

Browse sail pattern variants with palette and panel references.

  • Prototype journal

Review prototype photographs with maker observations and revision notes.

  • Workshop packet

Gather pattern drawings, material references and administrative preparation tasks.

  • Panel selection

Select an individual sail section in the design.

  • Palette variants

Compare color treatments on the same geometry.

  • Pattern references

Keep pattern identifiers attached to variants.

  • Material notes

Document the materials referenced by a concept.

  • Prototype photos

Review images of the prototype iteration.

  • Maker observations

Keep workshop observations beside prototype photos.

  • Revision records

    Trace changes between design proposals.

  • Workshop checklist

Gather the references prepared for workshop use.

Technology stack

    The results

The design establishes four distinct kite design views and a proposed set of twelve feature areas. The visual system prioritizes the working object and its context rather than repeated metric cards. A next validation would ask a practitioner to move from sail studio to workshop packet, identify the selected record and retrieve the relevant revision records. These are design deliverables, not measured business outcomes.
