Dioravo

Dioravo brings miniature exhibit design into a visual workspace built around the records, decisions and reviews that shape the work.

Dioravo product concept in a branded setting

Project overview

Dioravo is a product design concept for miniature exhibit design. Miniature artists need composition changes, scenic assets and workshop references connected across a scene's development. The scope connects four activities: scene composer, scenic library, build journal, exhibit proof. Each has a dedicated screen, with a miniature scene viewer with exploded layers and asset shelf establishing the visual direction. The work includes interface composition, proposed feature architecture and industry-specific showcase imagery.

The challenge

Miniature artists need composition changes, scenic assets and workshop references connected across a scene's development. A useful workspace must preserve the connection between the original reference, the selected record and the discussion around a change. Showing more information alone would not resolve that handoff.

  • Keep scene layers and scale references connected to the selected work.
  • Make build photographs visible at the point where decisions are reviewed.
  • Retain lighting variants and review checklist through the handoff.

Our solution

The design starts with a miniature scene viewer with exploded layers and asset shelf. Inspect an original miniature railway diorama with selected scenery and layer controls. The remaining views separate exploration, coordination and review into layouts suited to their content. A slate violet, warm white and brass palette gives the product its own visual identity, while selected-record panels keep details close to the working surface.

  • Inspect an original miniature railway diorama with selected scenery and layer controls.
  • Browse miniature trees, structures and figures in a visual asset shelf.
  • Review progress photographs beside maker notes and stage references.
  • Compare the miniature scene under two lighting concepts with review comments.

Technology stack

    The results

The design establishes four distinct miniature exhibit design views and a proposed set of twelve feature areas. The visual system prioritizes the working object and its context rather than repeated metric cards. A next validation would ask a practitioner to move from scene composer to exhibit proof, identify the selected record and retrieve the relevant lighting variants. These are design deliverables, not measured business outcomes.
