Craftrelay

A maker collaboration app for voice critiques, visual reference search and grounded handover digests.

Craftrelay product concept in a branded setting

Designed around4 AI workflows

Project overview

Craftrelay explores maker collaboration through a mobile experience built around a project photo feed with threaded review sheets. A maker collaboration app for voice critiques, visual reference search and grounded handover digests. The proposed journey connects project pocket, voice critique, find a reference, review digest. Four original phone showcases establish the visual direction, while the case study defines the supporting feature set and a proposed .NET MAUI architecture.

The challenge

Makers need spoken feedback, version photographs and material references connected as work moves between collaborators. On a phone, the person also needs to capture information quickly, understand where an answer came from and return to the original material without navigating through a dense desktop interface.

  • Keep project pocket and voice critique connected within a short mobile flow.
  • Make critique transcription correctable when the model misreads the input.
  • Explain feedback clustering through visible references or user-selected preferences.
  • Keep changes, sharing and data retention under explicit user control.

Our solution

The design begins with a project photo feed with threaded review sheets, using large touch targets, short task sequences and contextual sheets. Draft timestamped notes from a recorded review. Retrieve related images from the project's own archive. The companion views keep drafts, original material and accepted decisions distinct. A charcoal, coral and linen visual system gives this app its own character within the collection.

  • Draft timestamped notes from a recorded review.
  • Retrieve related images from the project's own archive.
  • Group comments by component for human review.
  • Summarize approved notes without changing project status automatically.

Key features

  • Project pocket

Review a prototype photo with version label, materials and next-review card.

  • Voice critique

Review a spoken review transformed into editable pinned notes.

  • Find a reference

Review an AI search across saved project images and material notes with matching sources.

  • Review digest

Review a proposed handover summary, unresolved questions and explicit audience selection.

  • Critique transcription

Draft timestamped notes from a recorded review.

  • Visual reference search

Retrieve related images from the project's own archive.

  • Feedback clustering

Group comments by component for human review.

  • Handover drafting

Summarize approved notes without changing project status automatically.

  • Version photographs

Keep visual evidence of each prototype iteration.

  • Threaded discussions

Connect comments to a specific work version.

  • Material references

Keep source notes beside project imagery.

  • Audience controls

Choose who receives a review packet.

Proposed technology stack

Proposed modernization architecture: .NET MAUI and C# for iOS and Android, with Xamarin shown as the legacy migration source. AI services and offline storage are design proposals; this portfolio entry is not a shipped application.

  • .NET MAUI
  • C#
  • Xamarin (legacy)
  • AI services

The results

The concept defines four mobile views, four AI workflows and twelve feature areas. The next validation would ask a user to complete project pocket, inspect the proposed voice critique output and correct an intentional extraction or suggestion error. Evaluation would focus on source traceability, correction effort and task completion. No usability study or business-impact measurement is claimed.

  • 4Proposed AI workflows
